MMP is presently seeking an Inside Sales Associate for our corporate office in Hales Corners, WI. MMP represents manufacturers of both physical and electronic test & measurement products throughout a geographic territory.
Description
The Inside Sales Associate would be responsible for inside sales and sales administration activities including:
Lead Processing. Leads are provided by the principals we represent. These leads must be entered into our customer database (ACT! 2011), initial contact made, and appropriate actions taken to properly process the lead. This requires diligent and accurate data entry, both verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail. Leads are the life-blood of our business.
Issuance of quotations. Once a lead has been properly qualified, you will work with your assigned sales engineer(s) and our principals’ inside applications engineers to generate a formal price & delivery quotation.
Quotation follow-ups. Prospective customers should be contacted immediately, and at regular intervals thereafter, to ensure the issued quotation was received and fulfills the customer’s expectations. Revised quotes may need to be issued based on a number of factors.
Sales opportunity reporting. All quotations must be input into ACT! as a new sales opportunity. In addition, regular and timely revisions to the Sales Opportunities in ACT! must be maintained. Most principals appreciate receiving monthly status reports of the open opportunities.
Assisting your assigned outside sales engineer(s). Assistance may take the form of performing daily activities including, but not limited to, Email blasts, scheduling and coordinating principal visits, scheduling sales calls, making travel arrangements (air, train, hotel), contacting customers as needed under the direction and instruction from the sales engineer(s) and/or principal communications.
Maintaining the ACT! Database. Data entry, updating, cleanup, maintenance, word processing.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be goal-oriented, self-motivated and interested in a long-term opportunity, with potential aspirations of transitioning to Outside Sales Associate within 6-12 months. The ideal candidate should possess some technical (electrical or mechanical) aptitude, and be comfortable using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Powerpoint). Due to the varying customer base, the candidate must be personable and enjoy interacting with people. The level of technical expertise required for this position varies, but is not required. However, engineering or physics degrees would be best equipped for transitioning to Outside Sales Associate in 6-12 month timeframe. Highly motivated candidates will also be considered. Past experience selling transducers, instrumentation and/or test systems a plus.
COMPENSATION STRUCTURE: HOURLY
PART-TIME/FULL-TIME STATUS: PART-TIME transitioning to FULL-TIME
